Bouchette reports that it’s unlikely Burress will return to the Giants, and that the Jets are expected to make a “big pitch” for Plaxico. Per Mehta, the Jets had “internal discussions” about Burress on Friday.

Diehards Line:According to PFT's Mike Florio, the Jets' interest in Burress means the chances of Braylon Edwards, for whom the Jets traded in 2009, returning to the team have gone from "zero to negative." It might also suggest the Jets are looking to make a high-profile splash after losing out to Philadelphia in the Nnamdi Asomaugh sweepstakes on Friday.
