The Facts: Following up on the ongoing story. ... Moreno is back on the practice field, at least in a limited fashion, less than six months removed from surgery to repair a torn ACL. Moreno is participating in the team's first set of Organized Team Activates and said he is eager to get back on the field after suffering the season-ending injury in mid-November. He had surgery on Dec. 1 and was cleared to resume agility drills about a month ago. "I didn't go anywhere in the offseason, I pretty much stayed here and rehabbed that and got it to where it is now," Moreno said.
Diehards Line:Moreno, a former first-round pick, enters this season with plenty to prove. He had already lost his starting job in 2011 to Willis McGahee before he was injured (though Moreno remained the team's third-down back), and the Broncos' drafted Ronnie Hillman in the third round. Hillman is a smaller, change-of-pace type of running back who could also serve as a complement to McGahee. According to Post staffer Lindsay Jones, Moreno is "fighting for a roster spot" and he so far he is struggling to stand out in a crowded backfield. ... Stay tuned.
