The Facts: Following up on a previous item, Raiders head coach Dennis Allen confirmed that wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey was released from the hospital on Monday. Heyward-Bey was kept overnight for observation after sustaining a concussion and neck strain in a violent helmet-to-helmet hit during Sunday's win over the Steelers. "He's going to be fine," coach Dennis Allen said. "The concussion is the biggest issue. We were all pleased to see it wasn't anything severe as far as a neck injury." While Heyward-Bey is expected to make a full recovery, Allen offered no timetable for his return.
Diehards Line:We think it's unlikely that DHB is medically cleared to return for Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. This isn't his first concussion and with the Raiders bye coming up in Week 5, Oakland is likely to keep him off the field until after the bye. Fantasy owners should be prepared to go with another option if Heyward-Bey is one of your starters.
