The Facts: The Baltimore Ravens walked away with a 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys, however injuries to several key members of the defense but a damper on the day. Pro Bowl linebacker is thought to have a torn right triceps, while cornerback Lardarius Webb went down with a left knee injury feared to be a torn ACL. Coach John Harbaugh didn't offer too many details about the two injuries, other than that Webb's injury didn't look good and that both players would have MRIs on Monday. In addition to the injuries to Lewis and Webb, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata left the game in the second quarter with a sprained right knee and also aggravated a minor right shoulder injury. Cornerback Jimmy Smith didn't finish the game because of a strained groin.
Diehards Line:The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys exposed vulnerabilities in the Ravens run defense, rushing for 200-plus yards in consecutive weeks. While Lewis has lost a step or two from his prime, he is the heart and soul of the defense and the Ravens' undisputed leader. Webb's loss could have an even more devastating impact than Lewis'. He is one of the club's best tacklers and its shutdown corner, frequently being assigned to shadow the opponent's top receiver. The Ravens have already been without outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, who is recovering from a torn right Achilles. Suggs isn't expect back until sometime after the Week 8 bye. A Lewis and Webb-less Baltimore's run defense could be put to the test in Week 7, in a tough road matchup against the Houston Texans. The Texans will look to get their offense, and especially the run game back on track after a 42-24 beat down by the Green Bay Packers. In terms of fantasy value, the Ravens D/ST could potentially morph from a weekly start to matchup play.
