The Facts: Earlier this month, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Cousins was open to a trade that placed him on a team other than the Redskins for the 2014 season. On Wednesday, Cousins said the same thing for himself.

Diehards Line:Cousins was a guest on Sirius XM NFL Radio and said that he was open to a trade because he wants to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, something that’s unlikely to happen in Washington with Robert Griffin III on the team. Cousins was quick to add that he loved Washington and that he would not be an unhappy camper if he did return in a reserve role with the Redskins. As PFT's Josh Alper notes, the Browns, who hired former Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan to run their offense, had been seen as a possible trade partner but were deemed unlikely to make a trade for him last week. Things have changed quite a bit in Cleveland since then, however. But as Alper went on to suggest, there will be other teams looking for quarterback help this offseason, which could make Cousins a valuable chip for Washington if they decide moving him makes the most sense for the organization.
