The Facts: In a civil lawsuit, Sonya Elliott, who claims to be Vick's former girlfriend, alleges the QB knowingly gave her genital herpes following an encounter in April 2003. Vick's attorney has until May 6 to respond to the complaint, at which time a motion for discovery will be filed. That evidence-gathering period typically lasts six months or more in this type of case, said Elliott's attorney. A trial date could be set shortly thereafter.
Diehards Line:In a statement issued through a spokesman, the Falcons said the team would not comment on the lawsuit, but hoped the issue "will be resolved in a fair and expeditious manner." Stay tuned. More as further developments break out.
