Fans might be curious at the change, given the presence of fullbacks Moran Norris and Jarrod Baxter, but the logjam at running back and the potential of having two playmakers in the backfield is too good to pass up. Playing fullback isn’t something he necessarily sought out. But after some explaining from the coaches, Wells realized the switch was in his best interest. His actual position will be more of a hybrid since he’s likely to receive a fair amount of touches.
