Although a plea arraignment was scheduled for Wednesday, Campbell's attorney asked for a continuance to a later date, according to a Fulton County (Ga.) District Attorney spokesman. Facing charges of receiving a stolen handgun and possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, the Vikings receiver secured prominent Atlanta attorney Brian Steel to defend him.

The marijuana charge is a misdemeanor and carries a maximum sentence of 12 months in jail. But the stolen property charge could be -- at the judge's discretion -- viewed as a felony, with a maximum sentence of one to 10 years. "We are innocent of the charges," Steel said Wednesday. ...
