McMichael could face a fine or suspension from the NFL for his latest arrest, depending on how the case is resolved. NFL spokesman Steve Alic said Tuesday that any criminal conduct by a player is evaluated by the league once the matter is resolved in the judicial system. The punishment is at the discretion of NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and the player is subject to clinical evaluation and therapy depending on the circumstances.

McMichael, who was arrested early Saturday morning on two misdemeanor charges from an altercation with his wife, is due in court in August for the incident.
