The Facts:
Eight days before training camp, the Bucs are not close to a deal with Williams, the No. 5 overall choice in the draft. However, general manager Bruce Allen is confident Williams will be under contract in time to report to training camp on July 28. "That's our intention and I know that's Cadillac's intent," Allen said Tuesday. "But we have some work to do between now and then."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
A year ago, the first draftee to sign with the team was receiver Michael Clayton, the first-round pick who agreed to terms a week before training camp. That's not likely to be the case with Williams, who will almost certainly wait until the four players drafted ahead of him sign their deals.
