The "glass half full" philosophy espoused by head coach Lovie Smith may spring a leak in the coming days. Each day it appears less likely Benson will be signed and participating in training camp when practice starts Sunday. Smith, however, remains optimistic. "We would like for him to be there," the coach said. "There's no reason for me to think any other way.
