The Vikings traded up to select Fason, a key decision in retrospect because Onterrio Smith was suspended for the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. However, the team still has considerable depth at the position with Michael Bennett, Mewelde Moore and Moe Williams on board and there's no guarantee Fason will break into the rotation as a rookie.
