The Facts:
Though Frerotte was considered to be leading the quarterback competition during mini-camps, Feeley, the incumbent starter, opened with the first team in Monday's initial practice of training camp. But Frerotte worked with the first team at Monday night's practice. Coach Nick Saban said he has no timetable for deciding a starter. "I don't think you can force issues like this," he said.

Saban isn't expected to release a depth chart until the Aug. 8 preseason opener against Chicago, but most local observers seemed to believe Frerotte held the edge going into camp. In the meantime, look for all the team's signal callers to see significant action in workouts. "I think there's going to be some pretty equal rotation going on," third-stringer Sage Rosenfels said.
