The Chargers waived LaDainian Tomlinson's backup Tuesday, officially because he failed a team physical. But coach Marty Schottenheimer cited other reasons, notably Chatman's "lack of involvement" in the club's offseason program, including his rehabilitation from a persistent toe injury last season.
