The Facts:
Eagles officials issued an angry statement directed at Westbrook, who failed to report for camp with teammates Monday night. "We've been very aggressive in trying to secure a long-term contract for [Westbrook]," said the statement, which was not attributed to any one team official. "We had thought we were making good progress in that regard. Unfortunately, [Westbrook] made a counter productive (sic) and almost unprecedented decision to not report to training camp. We will focus our attention on the players that are present as we begin full-squad practices on Tuesday."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Westbrook's absence came as a total surprise since he signed the team's one-year tender in June. Had he not signed that tender, Westbrook would not be allowed to report without a new contract. In other words, we're truly at a loss to explain his actions. Stay tuned. We'll obviously be hearing more on this one in coming days.
