The heat and intensity of the early Napa practices claimed a second player Monday when Porter left the afternoon practice midway through with a hamstring strain. "I'm faking it," Porter joked as he left the locker room, then admitted that he was headed for an MRI exam. "Yeah, I have to," he said.

Norv Turner said he does not believe Porter is seriously injured. "He felt a little bit in his hamstring. But he didn't think that he pulled it," Turner said. ... If this kind of news makes you nervous, we have a word of advice: Get used to it. There will be plenty of tweaks, bruises and sprains throughout the league before the regular season starts. Most -- like this -- will be minor. But that won't stop the reports.
