Davis is about to sign a multi-year, multimillion-dollar contract extension, according to league sources familiar with negotiations between the Texans and agent Rick Smith. Davis, a 2003 fourth-round pick who earns the $380,000 league minimum for a third-year player, is expected to sign the extension this week.
