The Facts:
Having missed 12 days of training camp, Benson is nearly halfway to the 25 days Philip Rivers skipped last season. The comparison between last year's No. 4 pick and this year's is not one Bears GM Jerry Angelo wants to make. By Thursday night, negotiations were more or less at a halt, and Angelo is increasingly frustrated.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Eugene Parker, who represents Benson, wants a contract comparable to the one received by Rivers and the Bears seem dead set against that notion. ... On a more positive note, Angelo said he would not consider lowering the club's offer to Benson as a negotiating tactic because that gets "personal."
