Domanick Davis Signs New Extension
(8/6 2:7 PT)

The Facts:
Davis, 24, was entering the final season of his original three-year contract, and his base salary for 2005 was scheduled to be $380,000. The five-year deal that results from the extension, through 2009, is worth $22 million and includes $8 million in guarantees.  Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Not an unexpected move. ... And as noted in an article published on this site yesterday, since money talks, it's safe to assume the Texans believe that Davis, one of just 13 players in the last 20 years to rush for at least 1,000 yards in their first two seasons, is a unique talent worthy a significant raise. Hopefully they'll ask him to do handle a workload commensurate with his new paycheck.
