Less than four months after signing with the Panthers, Jones has decided to call it a career. The Panthers announced Sunday that the eight-year veteran has retired.

Jones, who turns 31 in September, spent his last three seasons with the Cardinals after playing his first five campaigns with the Chargers. In 123 career games, Jones caught 404 passes for 4,232 yards and 22 touchdowns. He set career highs in 2000 in receptions (71), yards (766) and touchdowns (five). ...
