The Facts:
Staley will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to determine what, if any, damage there might be. An MRI test yesterday was inconclusive. Staley has missed practices since Wednesday, when fluid on his knee was drained. He tried to practice Saturday, but Bill Cowher said Staley told him the knee was uncomfortable.

Jerome Bettis assumes the role of number one halfback, as he did when Staley missed most of the last half of the 2004 season with a hamstring injury. Verron Haynes, Willie Parker and Noah Herron all become slightly more interesting -- at least until we have a better idea of the full extent of Staley's problems.
