The Facts:
The Dolphins and the agent for Brown have bridged at least one significant gap in talks over a contract to get the projected starting running back in training camp soon. The important element is the length of the contract. Brown had been hoping for a higher guaranteed to go with a six-year deal. The Dolphins countered with the lower guarantee but a shorter contract so Brown may become an unrestricted free agent after five years instead of six.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The holdup on the deal remains over the amount of money that Brown can make in other ways over the course of the five years. The Dolphins still are not offering the type of incentives and escalators commensurate with the No. 2 overall selection. ... At least they're talking.
