With four able quarterbacks and whispers before training camp that Rattay may be a player the team could trade, discussions between the Bears and 49ers could happen.

As of Saturday night, 49ers vice president of player personnel Scot McCloughan told the Chronicle through a spokesman that no discussions had taken place. The Bears, meanwhile, insist they're ready to go with Chad Hutchinson as their starter with rookie Kyle Orton and journeyman Kurt Kittner behind him. ... It will be interesting to see if they modify that stance over the next few weeks.
