The Facts:
Day 31 of the Benson impasse went by Tuesday, and the club and agent Eugene Parker did not speak for the 10th consecutive day. One of the last Bears employees to speak with Benson was receivers coach Darryl Drake, an assistant at Texas during the running back's first three college seasons. They spoke during training camp. "I'd like him to be here for selfish reasons because I'm for the Bears," Drake said. "He's got to do what he's got to do, but I wish he would go on and get this thing resolved and get on in here."
