The Bucs have sent a letter to McCardell's agent warning that if he fails to report to training camp on Friday, they will attempt to recoup half of his signing bonus ($1 million).

McCardell can also be $5,000 per day for every day missed in training camp; the team also can deduct a game check for every preseason game missed. ... Once again, we have a hard time believing McCardell, who is due to make $2.5 million this year, will give that money up by sitting out the entire season, but we'll continue to watch the situation closely.
