The Facts:
The news wasn't as bad as expected for Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler following their visit to orthopedic surgeon James Andrews for a second opinion. Fiedler could return as early as a month from now. Pennington's injury isn't career-threatening, Andrews said, and the quarterback could conceivably return this season. The Jets, however, will shut Pennington down regardless.

Andrews, who performed rotator cuff surgery on Pennington last February, said he may not have a fresh tear in his rotator cuff, it could be a breaking of scar tissue and adhesions.
