The Facts:
The Jets got some good news on Blaylock, who is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a broken foot instead of the season. After the Jets' victory Sunday against Tampa Bay, Herman Edwards said the backup would be out for the season. But Monday, Edwards said he misspoke, and expects Blaylock back at some point this season.

Edwards said the Jets have no plans to bring in a veteran running back with Blaylock, who will have surgery to insert a screw into his foot Wednesday, out. Rookie Cedric Houston becomes the backup to Curtis Martin, who also has been hobbled by a sore knee.
