The Facts:
Roethlisberger has a hyperextended left knee and a bone bruise sustained during at the end of a 24-22 victory over San Diego on Monday night, but hasn't been ruled out of Sunday's game against Jacksonville. The injury isn't as severe as it initially appeared to be. "It's a deep sigh of relief," Bill Cowher said Tuesday.

Roethlisberger had an MRI test shortly after the team returned to Pittsburgh on Tuesday morning. Tommy Maddox sat out the San Diego game with a calf injury, but also could be available Sunday. Cowher said his injury also wasn't as bad as initially thought. Charlie Batch is healthy if needed. ... We'll continue to monitor his status closely and bring you more as developments warrant.
