The Bucs will learn more about the extent of Griese's knee injury "in the next couple of days," Jon Gruden said today. Griese was taken to a local hospital for an examination during the game, and is undergoing additional tests today. "[Griese's] distraught and uptight, but we're hoping he comes through this better than we anticipate," Gruden said.

According to the Tribune, Griese could miss several weeks, if not the rest of the season. Sunday night, one Bucs player termed the injury severe. ESPN's Chris Mortensen subsequently reported that sources have told him Griese appears to have a torn ACL and MCL. ... While Chris Simms is next in line to start, Gruden said the Bucs would work on getting "contingency plans" ready for their next game, Oct. 30 at San Francisco.
