The Facts:
Smith sprained his right knee in Sunday's loss to the Redskins and the 49ers aren't certain he'll play against Tampa Bay. He is listed as probable on the injury report, but the 49ers will wait until later in the week to determine whether Smith can make his third career start. Smith underwent an MRI exam, and he'll have therapy and rehabilitation before practice on Oct. 26.
