Herman Edwards announced that wide receiver Wayne Chrebet (concussion) and tight end Chris Baker (ankle) have been placed on injured reserve. Baker will undergo surgery this week.  Reported by NewYorkJets.com

Baker's injury could force Doug Jolley, who has been a disappointment to this point, to pick up the pace. Poor blocking had dropped Jolley to No. 3 on the depth chart behind Baker and rookie Joel Dreesen in recent weeks. ... Edwards wouldn't comment further on Chrebet, but most observers believe this injury is career threatening. Jerricho Cotchery will move up in the receiving rotation going forward.
