Following up on
an ongoing story. ... HC Tony Sparano reacted quickly when asked if he thinks quarterback Chad Henne has a good chance to start this year. Sparano answered in the affirmative. “The one thing we’ve had time to do is a lot of homework and study,” Sparano told the Miami Herald. “And I would tell you when you put Chad’s numbers up against some of the better quarterbacks in our league, his numbers are pretty impressive."

It certainly sounds like Sparano has at least some confidence in his QB's abilities -- with qualification. "Now what has to happen?," Sparano added. "We have to cut down the impulse throws, the interceptions that happen late in the fourth quarter. ...” Henne threw 15 touchdowns and 19 interceptions last season and had issues with deep-ball accuracy, going 10 for 40 on passes 20 yards or higher. "Chad has had some really bright moments for our franchise," GM Jeff Ireland said. "I’m anxious to see him continue his development and see how it goes.” But make no mistake about it; somebody is coming on board to push Henne once the lockout is lifted.
