The Facts:
The Lions fired Steve Mariucci on Monday and promoted defensive coordinator Dick Jauron to succeed him on an interim basis. Quarterbacks coach Greg Olson takes over as offensive coordinator; former coordinator Ted Tollner was re-assigned. Offensive line coach Pat Morris and TEs coach Andy Sugarman were also fired.

Some observers believe this change bodes well for Joey Harrington -- at least in the long term. In the short term, running back Kevin Jones should benefit from a staff more willing to rely on a single featured back than Mariucci, who insisted on more of a committee approach.
