Despite his uncertain future with the team, Smith attended Mark Sanchez's "Jets West" camp in May and went to the team's player-organized three-day workouts earlier this month in New Jersey. "It was a little awkward, to be honest," Smith told PFW. "Most of the guys are under contract, then you have (Santonio) Holmes, Braylon (Edwards) and I. We worked hard, but you just don't know."

Smith rushed for a career-high 299 yards in 2010 and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. He gained 28.6 yards per kickoff return. ... But Holmes is likely the team's top priority among the three wideouts. Smith had only four catches in 2010 as he made his mark on special teams and in the "Wildcat." The Jets drafted WRs Jeremy Kerley and Scotty McKnight.
