Teammate Suggests Michael Crabtree's Foot Is More Than Just Sore
(6/30 11:5 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... Crabtree continues to be limited in practice as he takes a cautious route with an ailing foot. Teammates have said that the receiver had trouble with cleats during a practice earlier this month, but TE Vernon Davis indicated it was more than just typical soreness. “I think there’s something seriously wrong with his foot. He’ll be ready once camp rolls around. But I think he’s staying off of it,’’ Davis said. Reported by the San Jose Mercury News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
That doesn't sound good. That said, the fact that Crabtree is avoiding on-field work in June might have more than a little to do with concerns about getting seriously injured before the lockout is lifted. If so, it would certainly be a legitimate concern. Remember, Crabtree was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left foot prior to the 2009 draft. Again, we're not being dismissive of Davis' assessment, but we'll still take a wait and see approach with Crabtree -- with an emphasis on the "see" once training camp opens.
