Jones was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season because of a torn ligament in his right knee. Jones, a third-round pick out of Oklahoma, started eight games this season. He had 23 catches for 299 yards.

Roydell Williams, a rookie from Tulane, was to start in Jones' place Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. How long he holds onto that job depends greatly on Tyrone Calico's ability to pick up the pace -- something that seems unlikely at this point.
