NFP staffer Aaron Wilson, citing the same source, confirmed previous reporting indicating the rookie wage scale has been solved. Per Wilson's source, the top 10 draft picks will have a fifth year option at an average of the top 10 at their respective positions under the new rookie wage scale. ... Among the remaining issues to be worked out are the so-called legacy fund assisting retired players, owners still insisting on right of first refusal for additional free agents, which the players are staunchly opposed to, and the owners want to get rid of judicial oversight through the federal court system. So, as Wilson summed up, "while there's no deal yet, things are moving toward that eventuality and the return of football following a lengthy lockout that wiped out the majority of the offseason besides the NFL draft. ..."
