PFT's Michael David Smith went on to cite the fact that Sal Paolanto of ESPN reported that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has at least the 24 votes he needs from the owners to get a deal done as one reason for the optimism. Smith also pointed out that Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that NFLPA sources sound upbeat. ... Of course, Seahawks player rep Chester Pitt told FOXSports' Tony Bruno last night that he doesn't expect the lockout to end for two weeks. ... We'll remain hopeful too, however. At least until we have better reason not to be. Stay tuned. It could be a long day.
