Owners are waiting on a deal to vote on in Atlanta while lawyers from both sides are working on issues of how and when NFLPA would recertify -- along with tying up a few other unresolved issues.

La Canfora added the hope would be to have a "global settlement" in principle to put in place that would be finalized after recertification and judge's approval. ... According to Yahoo! Sports' Michael Silver, the other issues include discipline-grievance process, drug testing/substance abuse, disability benefits, pensions, work rules and general health and safety. Remember, the league has already agreed to limit practices -- no two-a-days during training camp and only 14 padded practices throughout the course of the regular season -- as part of an effort to lighten player workload. ... The owners are expected to vote shortly. The previously reported conference call for the NFLPA player reps is scheduled for 8 p.m. eastern time. Meanwhile, the team officials gathered in Atlanta for salary cap/management meetings have been told to be ready first thing Friday morning. ... Stay tuned.
