(7/21 2:48 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing labor story. ... According to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, there has been "lots of progress" on settlement talks through the afternoon. Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
La Canfora added the hope would be to have a "global settlement" in principle to put in place that would be finalized after recertification and judge's approval. ... According to Yahoo! Sports' Michael Silver, the other issues include discipline-grievance process, drug testing/substance abuse, disability benefits, pensions, work rules and general health and safety. Remember, the league has already agreed to limit practices -- no two-a-days during training camp and only 14 padded practices throughout the course of the regular season -- as part of an effort to lighten player workload. ... The owners are expected to vote shortly. The previously reported conference call for the NFLPA player reps is scheduled for 8 p.m. eastern time. Meanwhile, the team officials gathered in Atlanta for salary cap/management meetings have been told to be ready first thing Friday morning. ... Stay tuned.
