The vote passed 31-0 with one team (the Raiders) abstaining. ... As we laid it out earlier today, the steps necessary to get the new CBA approved were as follows: 1. Settle Brady v. NFL lawsuit; 2. the NFLPA must recertify as a union; 3. the NFLPA must ratify the new CBA. ... Step 1 is done. Now it's up to the players to get their side of things together -- first accepting the proposed settlement the league just voted on. It seems likely that some kind of conditional agreement that might allow the players to report to team facilities in advance of the lockout officially being lifted to vote on recertification. ... We'll obviously have more on the players' response as the night progresses.
