Report: V-Jax Backs Of Cash Demand; NFL, Players Still Talking
(7/23 8:15 PT)

The Facts:
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the Chargers wide receiver has finally decided to give up on his claim to money or franchise tag considerations in exchange for being a plaintiff in the Brady antitrust case. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT suggests, this is positive news for a few reasons this Saturday morning. It clears the way for the Brady vs. NFL antitrust lawsuit plaintiffs to quickly sign off on a labor deal once the rest of the open items are worked out. It’s also a sign that discussions and progress continue to be made over the weekend. ... We'll go ahead and remind you that the two sides are expected to work through the weekend on the remaining points of contention. All indications are, however, nothing will get done before Monday. But there is reason for optimism. Bengals TE (and alternate players rep) Reggie Kelly tells the Cincinnati Enquirer that while there was consternation amond the players on Thursday about how the owners ratified and announced a deal as if that ended the lockout (putting pressure on the players), things seemed to calm down on Friday. "I think guys at first were angry yesterday because the first time we heard about the proposal was on TV when they voted on it," Kelly said. "People have started to cool off. It's not about egos and personal feelings. It's a business. All in all it's going to work out and we're going to be ready to play. ..." In the end it still appears to be more a question of "when" than "if." Stay tuned.
