Following up on a previous item. ... After dropping Willis McGahee, word has leaked out that the Ravens have also cut Derrick Mason and Todd Heap per Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT suggests, the Ravens are clearly dead set on getting younger, faster, and cheaper. Mason gained over 800 yards last year, but after he considered retiring last preseason it seems reasonable to believe he'll consider it again. With Mason and T.J. Houshmandzadeh unlikely to be back, the Ravens have Anquan Boldin, rookie Torrey Smith and what PFT characterized as "a veteran to be named later" at the position. Carolina’s Steve Smith is said to be interested in Baltimore. ... Meanwhile, Heap, a two-time Pro Bowler, caught five touchdowns amid 40 receptions and 599 yards last season. He played in just 13 games, however, after suffering a hamstring injury against the Steelers in December. Ed Dickson should head into camp as the team's top receiving threat at the position if Heap doesn't return (with a lesser deal).
