Kyle Orton On The Trading Block; Are Dolphins The Top Suitor?
(7/26 9:56 PT)

The Facts:
To begin the business of Day One of the NFL's 2011 season, the Broncos will place Orton on the trading block. According to Post staffer Mike Klis, with the NFL trading period opening at 8 a.m. today, Orton's days as the Broncos' starting QB may be down to hours. The Broncos will be entertaining offers for Orton, according to two NFL sources. Reported by the Denver Post

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Klis went on to remind readers that Orton has made it clear that after posting the two best seasons of his pro career, throwing 41 touchdown passes against 21 interceptions for the Broncos, he doesn't want to serve as backup to the unproven Tim Tebow. The list of possible suitors includes Arizona (if they come up short in their bid for Kevin Kolb). But according to South Florida Sun-Sentinel staffer David Hyde, Miami might suddenly be the most interested. "The first Dolphins call [Tuesday] will be to Denver to survey the cost for Orton,” Hyde wrote. The Dolphins are indeed looking for a veteran QB to compete with Chad Henne for the starting role. Vince Young has previously been mentioned as a possibility for the Dolphins. We tend to think both men could give Henne a serious run for his money -- but Orton might be ideal.
