The Facts:
Tomlinson came out of Sunday's night game against Oakland with a rib injury, but returned for the start of the second half. The extent of the injury wasn't immediately known. Tomlinson apparently was hurt on a 3-yard run late in the second quarter. He came off the field, took off his helmet and began speaking with the team's medical staff.

Tomlinson jogged to the locker room, accompanied by a team doctor, with 22 seconds left before halftime. A few seconds later, his backup, Michael Turner, scored on a 2-yard run to give San Diego a 17-10 lead. ... Tomlinson, however, took his usual turns throughout the second half and didn't give way to Turner again until the final series of the game.
