According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys are releasing Barber. Reported by FootballDiehards.com

According to the Dallas Morning News, Barber arrived at team headquarters earlier today to meet with owner Jerry Jones and team officials and was seen leaving the parking lot a short time later. Jones said this morning that he's making contact with each player the Cowboys plan to cut today so that they won't be at training camp when the team reports in San Antonio on Wednesday. ... The move comes as no surprise. Barber was expected to be one the of the players the Cowboys cut in an effort to get under the $120.4 million salary cap. Right now, the Cowboys are about $18 million over the cap. ... Felix Jones, DeMarco Murray and Tashard Choice will comprise the team's depth chart at tailback. ... Meanwhile, Cowboys have also reportedly informed offensive linemen Marc Colombo and Leonard Davis and kicker Kris Brown that they will be cut.
