Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Teams can begin negotiating with all free agents on Tuesday, but contracts can't be signed until Friday. Clayton didn't rule out the possibility of Seattle offering Matt Hasselbeck a contract, but sounded more confident that they'll go with Jackson. That doesn't, of course, mean they'd go with Jackson as their starter if Hasselbeck doesn't return. According to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, the backup plan includes continuing to try to develop Charlie Whitehurst as their starter with Jackson, who played for Seattle OC Darrell Bevell in Minnesota, and Matt Leinart as a third QB. Leinart played for HC Pete Carroll at USC.
