PFW correspondent and Houston Chronicle writer John McClain reported that Leinart decided he wanted to stay with the Texans. According to McClain, Leinart wanted to sign with a team that would give him a chance to start, and after the Seahawks agreed to sign Tarvaris Jackson, he decided to re-sign with Houston. Leinart did not play last season, his first as a Texan. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2004 and was a first-round pick of the Cardinals, but has had a disappointing career so far in the NFL.
