Vinatieri has agreed to a three-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts, according to his agent. There was no announcement from the team. Veteran free-agent contracts cannot be signed until Friday.

He converted 26-of-28 field-goal attempts during the regular season, then went 3-for-3 in the playoff loss to the New York Jets. Vinatieri’s 50-yard field goal with 53 seconds remaining gave the Colts a 16-14 lead.
