According to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, three teams, including the Redskins, were very interested in Holmes. Holmes loves his young teammates, though, and quickly formed a strong bond with coach Rex Ryan and QB Mark Sanchez. In fact, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Holmes contract has a cap number of only $2.45 million in 2011. His willingness to give the Jets a discount will help in their pursuit of Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha.
