As we mentioned in this year's
Fantasy Football Pro Forecast magazine, we're not so sure Gates' 2010 season wasn't his best to date. He ranked among the best at his position in several categories, despite playing in only 10 games. That included a couple monster games -- 144 yards against Arizona and 123 yards against Tennessee. Unfortunately, his 2010 campaign was cut short by the nasty bout of plantar fasciitis he's still dealing with. But we think it's safe to assume it will be less an issue than last season. And even though Philip Rivers will have his choice of targets, he tends to look to No. 85 first. Gates is not head and shoulders above the competition as was true not long ago, but as far as we're concerned he's the best of what's to pick from.
